Wendy_J: I fell 'in love' with Elizabeth Tudor as a ten year old, after some one gave me a child's book of history for a birthday present. This book not only introduced me to my life's first hero, a woman who gave her name to an age, but also to the joys of history. Even now knowing her many imperfections, I still love Elizabeth. Believe me - it's true. I named my daughter after her. Loving Elizabeth Tudor made me want to learn more about her times, starting me on a journey taking me backward and forward and backward and forward through the myriad realms of history. O- how I've travelled, learning about the lives of so many inspirational people, and discovering so much, not only about history but also about myself - all because some one once gave me a book.
